Established in 1936 by Carrie Elligson Gietner, the Gietner Home has been a loving provider of care and a welcoming residence for the elderly for over 80 years. Mrs. Gietner's goal of providing, not a nursing home, but a "wonderful place to enjoy the Golden Years to the fullest," is a mantra we maintain today. On the beautiful bluffs of the Mississippi River, residents and visitors never tire of the priceless view. Today the Gietner Home is a Skilled Nursing Facility that provides 24 hour care. Residents here can enjoy all of the ammenities of home with the comfort of knowing there is a dedicated staff focused on their health and well being. Our residents live comfortably in private rooms with friendly and diverse neighbors to spend time with. The home was originally built at the turn of the 20th century as a men's rowing club. Then, in the 1930's, Carrie Elligson Gietner received permission from the city to use the building as a ladies boarding home. Since then, the Facility has transitioned to provide skilled nursing care to men and women, but the spirit of the services has not changed. We really do have a lively and bustling community. If you are looking for a home or are just curious what options you have, we welcome you to come in and meet with us. Let us know what we can do to make this the perfect home for you. Show All
