Elderly Persons in Community (EPIC House) offers a unique shared living experience for elderly, income eligible adults in Greater Cincinnati. Opened in 1989 by the Dominican Sisters of Hope, EPIC House was the result of a vision to provide shared housing for older people living in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine, West End and Central Business District who had no extended family to care for them. Elderly Persons in Community (EPIC House) provides a solution to an often-overlooked problem – long-time inner city residents over the age of 60 who are placed prematurely in nursing homes because there is no affordable housing with services available to them. A senior living community for income-eligible adults over the age of 60 who can no longer safely live independently but do not require nursing home care. Elderly Persons in Community is licensed by the State of Ohio to provide housing for nine residents with private bedrooms and bath, shared meals and housekeeping, laundry onsite and staff present 24/7.
