Garden Villa was founded in 1966 in Bloomington, Indiana by Lee Marchant. Lee grew up in Bloomington in a medical professions household by his father, an ear nose and throat physician and his mother, a registered nurse. Three years after Garden Villa opened, a second Garden Villa facility was opened in Bedford and Marchant is still actively involved as the owner of both facilities today. Providing a community focused on health and well-being are Marchant’s top concerns. He makes sure Garden Villa staff focus on caring for the community and providing health resources. In everything Marchant and his companies do, there is an emphasis on community, caring and health at the highest standard. In addition, Garden Villa has supported the local community in various philanthropic initiatives which is a part of the foundation of our commitment to our best in service to community. Marchant has been involved with the Indiana Health Care Association serving for years as President and in various other leadership roles. He also served as Vice President of the American Health Care Association representing the great state of Indiana. Marchant was appointed to the Ivy Tech Community College Board of Trustees in 2005 and reappointed in 2008 by former Governor Mitch Daniels. Previously, Marchant was an Ivy Tech Foundation chairman, serving on the Board of Directors for more than 21 years. In January 2014, Ivy Tech Community College in Bloomington named the nursing education facilities the Lee Marchant School of Nursing Building. Show All
