With private and semiprivate rooms, and dedicated area for Rehab to Home and outpatient therapy, our residents also have access to common areas including a living room, a sun-porch dining area and courtyard. Highly trained and experienced professionals in physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy visit with patients and residents Monday through Friday. Each client has a customized plan of care designed to help heal or strengthen to keep our senior at their peak physically. Using state-of-the-art therapy equipment, our Accelerated Care Plus Therapy program has proven faster healing times for joint injuries and wounds, improved strength and balance, flexibility and mobility. For our Rehab to Home program, therapists and restorative nurses’ assistants often work with clients in “real world” settings to learn how to acclimate in the kitchen or bathroom and other daily activities to increase independence and lessen the possibility of re-injury. Ravenwood is well-known for its staff’s expertise in healing difficult wounds. “Ravenwood is the number one place to receive post-acute rehabilitation in the Cedar Valley,” says Administrator Kayla Harken. “Our highly qualified, experienced staff are dedicated to the residents of Ravenwood, using their expertise in nursing, wound, and rehabilitation care. Our goal is to get you back to your prior living arrangement and our first commitment to our community members.” In addition to providing exceptional physical and medical care, we are dedicated to seeing that our residents and patients are socializing, interacting and enjoying their time as much as possible. A variety of activities are planned daily to engage individuals with many different interests. Church services, Bible study and exercise time is scheduled throughout the week. Weekly, residents are invited to join small groups in taking trips out for lunch or shopping, going for coffee, ice cream, or seeing other area attraction or events. Weekly art lessons and Bingo are also popular. Local talents, such as a Neil Diamond or Elvis impersonator, frequently stop in for a concert or show. The women’s group, Red Hat Society has their gatherings, and the men have an equivalent in the Red Tie Club. A variety of big annual events like our summer Barbecue, the Ravenwood Women’s Auxiliary annual bake sale and luncheon, and the annual family Thanksgiving dinner gather families and friends to visit.
