The Center at Cordera's sister facility, The Center at Centennial opened in 2007 as a result of community members who arrived at the conclusion that the status quo in skilled inpatient rehabilitation was inadequate to satisfy patients’ needs. Prior to The Center at Centennial, patients in Colorado Springs who required skilled nursing and rehabilitation had few choices other than to be admitted to a traditional nursing home. Today, The Center at Cordera provides additional choice to patient seeking rehabilitative care in the Pikes Peak region and continues to provide world class care to its patients. Medicare covers skilled care in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) under certain conditions for a limited time. Skilled care is health care given when you need skilled nursing or rehabilitation staff to manage, observe and evaluate your care. Examples of skilled care include changing sterile dressings and physical therapy. These services must be provided in a Medicare-certified Skilled Nursing Facility. Care that can be given by non-professional staff is not considered skilled care. Medicare covers certain skilled care services that are needed daily on a short-term basis (up to 100 days). Show All
