Westwing Place provides short-term rehabilitation services to individuals transitioning home after a hospital stay, and also offers long-term nursing care. As many as 80 individuals are served at a time in the community, which has been a point of pride in DeWitt for nearly half a century. Westwing opened its doors in 1972 as a care community for older adults. Its location on the west side of DeWitt Community Hospital made it the first community of its kind in the area. An addition designed to serve an additional 25 residents opened in 1990, enhancing not only capacity, but employment opportunities for nurses, CNAs, aides, and other service-oriented team members. Community organizations have often named Westwing an employer of choice for the DeWitt area. Rehabilitation services offered at Westwing include physical, occupational, and speech therapy. The community’s short-term rehabilitation environment is differentiated in the market by, among other amenities, therapy involving cutting-edge technology and equipment. Westwing is currently welcoming individuals who are seeking physical, occupational, and/or physical therapy after a hospital stay, as well as those who require long-term nursing care.
